Ms. Augelli, Ms. Wishnia and Ms. Wihry’s Fourth Grade students celebrated the National Day on Writing by participating in a live Google Hangout with notable author Kate Messner this past Tuesday, October 20th. Ms. Messner took students on an inspirational journey through the process of writing a book. Our students learned that published authors go through the same process as student writers, including pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. She showed us her planning pages and drafts with revising and editing marks on them (and even mentioned her writer's notebook!).
Our Kindergartners, 1st and 2nd Graders were visited by the Warwick Fire Department to celebrate Fire Safety and Prevention Week. The favorite part of the day was spraying the fire hose! Warwick's Historical Society led tours for our 4th grade students and our staff members around the grounds of Sanfordville Elementary. Students learned about the Decay Family Farm and Washington's Encampment during the Revolutionary War. WVCSD Transportation brings "Buster the Bus" to visit Sanfordville students. ![]() Thank you Warwick Rotary Club for the dictionaries presented to our 4th Grade students! PIE Students experience Water Conservation Awareness through lesson presented by the Orange County Water Authority.
