Despite the rain, Sanfordville students were eager to come back to school this past Wednesday, September 6th. Strapped with new backpacks and sporting brand new sneakers, over 650 students entered the doors of Sanfordville for the 2017-2018 school year. Besides all of our incoming Kindergartners, Sanfordville welcomed 59 new students to the building since July 1st.
Classrooms libraries and writing centers looked amazing. Teachers added many new books to their collections and created cozy nooks to encourage reading. We were pleased to see students writing about their summer adventures on day one!
All eyes were on the new Action-Based Learning Lab. Our students will engage in Action-Based Learning to improve memory retention, reinforce academic concepts and brain balance while experiencing whole-brain, whole-body learning. Students will move from station to station with a partner or partners enhancing such standards as spatial awareness, motor skill development, eye-hand and eye-foot coordination, upper and lower body strength, cardiovascular strength and endurance, rhythm competency, and social interaction.
Indoor recess on this rainy day provided the perfect opportunity for teachers and monitor to review lunch and recess procedures. Smiling but tired faces boarded the buses at the end the day.
